Pack for changing conditions

December through March falls within the rainy months in the Peruvian Andes. A regional climate pattern is not a forecast for your outing; check conditions closer to departure. PROMPERÚ: climate.

A day-out checklist

Bring a waterproof outer layer, clothing you can layer, something warm for the return and shoes with reliable grip. Keep documents and electronics in a waterproof bag inside your daypack. Spare socks take little room and avoid relying on everything drying overnight.

Before you zip the bag

Separate things needed in transit from checked luggage. Ask each excursion provider about specific equipment and baggage limits. Casa Agustina has stairs and no lift: choose luggage you can manage and ask about a lower floor if needed. Room allocation must be confirmed rather than assumed.
