Getting to the house
Save our address: Calle Saphy 853. If arriving at the airport or a bus terminal, share the location and time to enquire about a trusted taxi. Arrange your arrival and access code in advance; check-in starts at 14:00.
Your first day and the altitude
Cusco is around 3,400 metres above sea level. Allow time to rest and avoid strenuous exercise during your first 48 hours. You can begin by enjoying the terrace. If you feel unwell, seek medical care; the CDC information explains how to prepare for high-altitude travel.
Walks around the centre
Plaza de Armas is a 8–10-minute walk from the house; remember the uphill return. San Blas offers streets and artisan workshops to explore, while San Pedro market shows another side of the city. Check your route and decide how far to walk according to how you feel.
Sacsayhuamán and excursions
Sacsayhuamán, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu are options for other days of your trip. Check tickets, opening times and transport with the operator before booking. If an excursion starts early, ask us about a packed breakfast.
Food and everyday essentials
Ask us about places to eat according to your tastes. These links open map searches near Calle Saphy: check opening times and locations before setting out. They do not imply a partnership with the businesses shown.
Holidays from December to March
If you are travelling from Chile or Brazil, you can message us in Spanish or Portuguese with your dates and number of guests. Check the forecast and route conditions before an excursion. Bring clothing for changes in temperature and confirm what you need with the operator.
