Choose a safe source

If water safety is uncertain, use sealed bottled water or appropriately treated water, including for brushing teeth. Ask what water is used to make ice. CDC: food and water precautions.

Clear does not mean safe

Clear-looking water may contain microorganisms. Reusable bottles help only when filled from a safe source; suitable treatment depends on the source and method. CDC: water disinfection.

Ask before refilling

Ask the family which water source is available and whether it has been treated before filling your bottle. A dispenser, filter or free drinking-water service at Casa Agustina has not been confirmed. For a longer outing, arrange your supply before leaving instead of depending on a shop somewhere along the route.
